On Monday, Congressman Raja signed a letter with 10 of his colleagues requesting a classified briefing on how the recent political turmoil in the US has empowered Russia and China. The Congressman noted that "we need this briefing to show members of this body how the current political dysfunction harms our national security interests."
On Thursday, Congressman Raja appeared on FOX 32 to comment about the new Speaker of the House and the upcoming problems that Congress will need to deal with. He urged "let's not wait until the last minute to [pass a government spending bill], let's bring some predictability and certainty so our constituents don't have to go through that rollercoaster ride."
Also on Thursday, Congressman Raja sent a letter to Secretary of State Blinkin calling for safe passage for an Elgin family stuck in Gaza. The Congressman wrote "though Rafah was opened to allow some humanitarian aid in, the crossing is still closed to Americans and civilians trying to leave, and I am extremely concerned for their safety and well-being. I urge you to continue to work to bring my constituents' family members and others home."
