Dear Sandeep,
Congressman Raja wrote an op-ed with Congressman John James of Michigan for The Hill about companies embracing more competition in the workplace from those without university degrees. In it, he wrote, "Our objective is simple: to ensure fair access to job opportunities for all qualified individuals... by empowering job applicants to substitute relevant experience for bachelor's degrees..."
Congressman Raja also secured $50,000 of funding for the Palatine Police Department to purchase electric motorcycles. He said, "I am proud to have secured funding for new electric motorcycles for the Palatine Police Department, which will provide another tool for officers while embracing the cost- and emission-saving benefits of green technology."
Finally, Congressman Raja discussed the need to limit China's dominant supply of rare minerals. He noted, "[The China Committee] will work to create transparency into U.S. supply-chain dependency for critical minerals and develop a package of investments, regulatory reforms, and tax incentives to reduce that dependency."
We will continue to bring you news about Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi's work in D.C. and Illinois.
