Last week, Congressman Raja visited South Elgin High School to announce a grant provided through the Apprenticeships Build America program. The Congressman has long been a proponent of trade schools and apprenticeship programs, and the grant will create opportunities for training students in automotive and heavy machinery trades.
Congressman Raja spoke with Crain's Business Chicago to discuss the topic of China's unfair trade practices and his trade crimes bill. Speaking of Chinese trade, the Congressman said, "we need… to pass the international trade crimes bill to crack down on these unfair trade practices in a serious way."
Congressman Raja made an appearance on CNN to talk about government funding and the possibility of a federal shutdown. Discussing the possibility of a shutdown, he noted, "We can't have a government shutdown. It hurts too many Americans who have nothing to do with these partisan fights that the Republicans have launched."
