I wanted you to hear this from me first.
A brand-new poll shows me leading Greg Abbott, 49% to 46%.
Here’s why that number matters so much. In early October, we had cut Abbott’s lead to just 1.3 points. Then the polls started moving back his way. His lead in the polling average grew, and a lot of insiders decided this race was slipping away from us.
This poll was taken in the middle of early voting, and it shows us ahead.
What makes it remarkable is this: Greg Abbott has now spent $181 million in this race, five times what our campaign has spent. In the last month alone, he spent $35 million. That’s as much as we’ve spent since the day we launched.
Spending: TX-GOV
🔴 Abbott, total: $181 million
🔴 Abbott, last 30 days: $35 million
🔵 Our entire campaign: $35 million
He has outspent us 5 to 1. But we’re outworking him, and grassroots supporters are the reason why.
I’m not going to pretend one poll settles anything. Three points is within the margin of error, and Abbott isn’t going to stop spending now. The voters who decide this race are about to be buried in his ads. We have to make sure they hear from us too.
That’s why my team set a goal to raise $3 million this weekend, which would bring us to $10 million raised since October 1. As of writing this, we’re 95% of the way there.
Supporters like you helped get us this far, and I need you with me for the final stretch. Will you split a contribution of $25 now between Equal Opportunity Now and my campaign to help us hit our $3 million goal and keep this lead through Election Day?
