On Friday, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi appeared on the Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC to discuss the new revelations about Trump's attempt to get the Department of Justice to help overturn the 2020 election. Trump has announced he is seriously considering running in 2024 so his actions in 2020 are unfortunately relevant even today: "Now that the Justice Department has basically allowed the oversight committee and us to do our investigation unimpeded by the prospect of executive privilege, we can get at the emails and other documents. Now we can bring witnesses in and actually have hearings and so forth."
Earlier in the week, the Hill wrote about Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi pressing Johnson & Johnson over their reported plan to offload liabilities from the baby powder lawsuits it's facing through a bankruptcy plan. "Krishnamoorthi wrote in his letter that the subcommittee is seeking to find out how this potential plan would affect the victims who claim that J&J's baby powder negatively impacted their health."
Last week, Common Dreams wrote about Raja leading the call for global vaccine equity funding to be included in the reconciliation package. "The Delta variant is here! It's vital that we ramp up global vaccine distribution. I led 70 of my House and Senate colleagues in requesting that the upcoming Congressional package include funding for production of COVID vaccines for global distribution."
