Dear Sandeep,
We hope all is well with you and your family, and that you are safe and healthy.
This week, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi appeared on ESPN to discuss his recent investigation into the Washington Football Team's workplace culture, including reports of racist, misogynistic, and homophobic language. "The way they handle issues of race and gender and the way they treat their employees really influences the way society handles those very issues," Krishnamoorthi said. "We're very much interested in learning more about exactly why the NFL did what they did and the way they did it."
The Congressman also spoke out about changes made to the USPS that weren't thoroughly vetted before their implementation. "The USPS delivers 48 percent of the world's mail. When our country was founded, the USPS under Postmaster General Benjamin Franklin tied the 13 original colonies together," Krishnamoorthi said. "Throughout its history, the USPS has been an essential public service, representing the very best of American excellence and patriotism. But, I fear that reputation is in grave jeopardy."
Congressman Krishnamoorthi continues to lead the charge for the United States to invest more in making and distributing COVID-19 vaccines in low and middle-income countries. "We need to show some hustle. We have to show a sense of urgency, and I'm not seeing that urgency. Either we end this pandemic or we muddle our way through."
We will continue to bring you news about Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi's work in D.C. and Illinois.
