Congressman Raja recently appeared on Fox News to discuss the upcoming midterm elections. When discussing wages, the Congressman said, "We have to do everything we can to fight inflation. People are feeling it at the pump, people are feeling it at the grocery store." He also told hosts,"The labor market is very strong: 261,000 jobs created last month, a revised upward estimate of the previous month's job growth to 315,000 jobs and 10,000,000 so far under the Biden Administration."
Recently joining WGN host Lisa Dent, Congressman Raja discussed President Biden visiting Chicago to campaign for local Illinois Democrats. "In the midterms, the party in the White House always loses seats whether it's a Democrat or Republican in the White House. That's what history says so given that, I think everyone is cautious, hopeful, but realistic. Certainly, we welcome the President." When asked about his particular Democratic colleagues and if their seats are in danger, he said, "I don't think so, I was with some of them yesterday, they're working their tails off."
In an opinion piece he penned for The Hill, Congressman Raja analyzed Putin's threats to use nuclear weapons in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Congressman Raja remarked, "Regardless of whether Putin's aim is to intimidate Ukraine into further negotiations, to pursue an "escalate to de-escalate" strategy, or to elevate the conflict into total war, it is imperative that the United States joins together with both its partners and Russia's to send the unequivocal message that there can be no de-escalation after nuclear escalation." Congressman Raja previously visited the Poland-Ukraine border in his capacity as a member of the House Intelligence committee to oversee our support of Ukraine.
