On Monday, the Congressman joined John Williams on WGN Radio to talk about a panel he led at Harper College focused on skilled-based hiring practices and equitable workforce initiatives. He said, "Our current workforce is extremely talented but there is a little bit of a mismatch between the skills of the workforce and the jobs available in the workforce."
On Wednesday, the Congressman and forty-three other members of Congress sent a letter to President Biden expressing support for a two-state solution in Israel. They explained that "we will continue to stand firm in our support for both the Israeli and Palestinian people's right to exist with dignity, peace and security."
On Thursday, the Congressman was interviewed by NBC News about new legislation that would prevent taxpayer dollars from being used to purchase equipment or services from entities controlled by foreign adversaries, including the Chinese genomics firm BGI. He said "BGI has extensive collaboration with the People's Liberation Army. They've published numerous papers in conjunction with the PLA with regard to their research. And so this type of military civil fusion... is of great concern..."
