Dear Sandeep,
Congressman Raja appeared on CNN to discuss the death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny and whether his death will foster momentum for aid to Ukraine. During his appearance, the Congressman observed that "not doing anything, which is what is happening right now, is not an option."
Congressman Raja visited Taiwan with a group of US lawmakers to meet Taiwanese President-elect Lai Ching-te. During his visit to the presidential palace in Taipei, the Congressman noted, "as president-elect Lai made very clear... if for some reason the Ukrainians do not prevail, that will only encourage hostilities against Taiwan."
In a Politico piece, Congressman Raja reiterated how important the outcome of the Ukraine-Russia conflict is to the Taiwanese. He said, "[The Taiwanese] are watching the supplemental requests for Ukraine like hawks and they view Ukraine prevailing against the criminal invasion by Russia as incredibly important in sending a message to the Chinese Communist Party."
We will continue to bring you news about Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi's work in D.C. and Illinois.
