On Tuesday, Congressman Raja joined CNN to discuss the current state of the Democratic Party. He said, "[The American people] need us Democrats to attend to their economic needs more than anything else right now…The Democratic brand needs improvement. What we need to realize is that everyone right now feels like the American dream is slipping out of grasp."
On Wednesday, Congressman Raja secured the endorsement of 20 mayors across Illinois, from Krishnamoorthi's home base of Schaumburg, as well as West Peoria, near where he grew up. Covered in Fox 32 Chicago, he said, "I am honored to have the support of this long and growing list of mayors from across Illinois who spend every single day fighting for their residents…Local leaders know their communities better than anyone, and I have been proud to fight on behalf of these mayors and their communities throughout my time in Congress"
On Thursday, Congressman Raja joined WMBD to criticize Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill". He said, "It slashes the social safety net to the tune of trillions of dollars. Medicaid alone will be so devastated that 800,000 to 900,000 Illinoisians, some in Central Illinois, are going to lose access to their sole source of healthcare…This doesn't make any sense. it's going to harm Illinoisians up and down the state. And it's going to harm our economy as well."
On Friday, Congressman Raja published an opinion piece on his commitment to protecting Taiwan from an increasingly confident China was highlighted in Taiwanese media. Covered by the Taipei Times he said, "Taiwan is more than just a beacon of freedom — it's one of America's most important economic partners…Taiwan supports American jobs. Taiwanese investment strengthens our supply chains. And Taiwan's democracy serves as a counterweight to the rising authoritarianism of the [CCP]."
