Happy 4th of July

 

Dear Sandeep,

Happy 4th of July! Today we celebrate the freedom of our great nation, as 245 years ago, America declared independence from colonial rule.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all [people] are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

These words ring true now just as they did when they were first written. The rights that our founders fought for are rights that we must continue to cherish and protect even now. While today is a day for celebration, let's take a moment to remember the accomplishments and progress we are celebrating, even as we reflect on how much further we need to go.

I also want to say thank you. Thank you for your support that has allowed me to represent and fight for you in Congress. I will continue to do so, and I'm honored to have your support.

Please stay safe, and enjoy the holiday.
