Dear Sandeep,
We hope all is well with you and your family, and that you are safe and healthy.
This week, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi introduced a law that would establish comprehensive safety rules for booster seats. "We as parents always assume that no company would make a product that was unsafe for our children and that the government would regulate this space carefully, and unfortunately we're wrong," said Krishnamoorthi, who credited ProPublica with bringing the safety problems to his attention. "That's why we introduced the legislation we did."
The Congressman also joined Fox News to discuss the tax code and key provisions in the spending bill. "My constituents, whether they are Republicans, Democrats, or Independents, believe that everybody should pay something under the federal tax code." In regards to the physical infrastructure, Congressman Raja said "it is so crucial for our businesses and our families and others that we have as many people voting for it as possible..."
Congressman Krishnamoorthi continues to advocate for robust global vaccination efforts. The Congressman, along with U.S. Sen. Ed Markey forwarded correspondence to three agencies seeking an outline regarding administration plans to vaccinate 70 percent of the world population by September 2022. The lawmakers wrote that "Ending the global pandemic must remain a top humanitarian and national security objective, especially given the risk that new emerging variants pose."
We will continue to bring you news about Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi's work in D.C. and Illinois.
