Sandeep, the attacks on immigrants in LA and across the country are despicable. As an immigrant and the father of first-gen brown children myself, I refuse to stay silent. I'm doing everything in my power to protect the families and children living in fear that their parents will be ripped from their homes, schools, jobs, and communities by ICE. Please, keep reading and help power my fight to defeat Donald Trump, flip the Senate Blue, and put an end to this authoritarian take over >>
![]() Growing up in Peoria, Illinois, I often felt like an outsider. But I never lived in fear that men with guns and shields would rip my parents from our home and ship them across the globe. My mission in public service has always been to make sure stories like mine are possible for the next generations: My parents came to the United States to give us a better life, like millions of hard working people who call our country home – and they did. I was a young boy who went from living in Public Housing and depending on SNAP to eat – to a Law School graduate, US Congressman, and candidate for Senate. But now, all of that is under threat. The Trump administration's cruel, xenophobic policies mean that so many brown kids like me are scared right now. This Administration is detaining citizens in broad daylight and terrifying our communities, blatantly disregarding due process and the fundamental rights of immigrants. Kids like mine are being ripped from their parents.
Thank you for standing with me, Raja
