We must address the alarming decision by Donald Trump's administration to body slam and handcuff a sitting United States Senator for simply asking a question of his government.
Make no mistake: this is authoritarianism. U.S. Senator Alex Padilla was violently confronted, tackled to the ground, and handcuffed while boldly advocating for accountability for the millions of Californians he represents in the Senate.
This behavior is completely unacceptable and must be condemned.
