I see it in the emails I get every single day from people across this country who are scared but still showing up. People who are furious and channeling that fury into something constructive. People who have every reason to disengage and have chosen not to.
I see it in the response to Equal Opportunity Now. In just a few weeks, people from around the country have joined this organization.
I see it in the candidates who are stepping up all across this country. In cities and towns and districts that the political establishment has written off, there are leaders getting ready to run — leaders who came up the hard way, who know what it means to struggle, who have no patience for the corruption and cowardice that has defined too much of our politics for too long. They are out there. They are ready. And Equal Opportunity Now is going to find them, fund them, and fight alongside them.
I see it in the fights we are winning. The SAVE Act didn't pass the Senate. Courts are pushing back on Trump's most authoritarian overreaches. The grassroots energy on our side is real and it is growing. The political world is slowly, grudgingly beginning to understand that this MAGA moment is not permanent — that there is a reckoning coming, and that the side that is organized and funded and ready will determine what comes next.
I believe we can be that side.
Not because I'm naive. Not because I don't understand what we're up against. But because I've seen what happens when people who believe in something decide to fight for it with everything they have. I've lived it. My family lived it.
And I know — I know — that the America worth fighting for is still out there, still possible, still worth every ounce of energy we can give it.
That's why I started Equal Opportunity Now. That's why I wake up every morning and do this work. And that's why, even on the hardest days, I am still optimistic.
Will you chip in $25 or $50 today to help us keep building the organization that will make that optimism real?
