Raja Update 12.7.20

Dear Sandeep,

We hope all is well with you and your family, and that you are safe and healthy.

Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi spoke with WGN last Wednesday about the ongoing stimulus talks in Washington: "The good news is that there's actually serious negotiations right now on this. The bad news is that we're not there yet … I personally think we gotta just compromise and get to some concrete numbers, I think something effective is better than nothing at this point ... if the election sent any message, it's get something done. We're gonna have a new president, but Democrats and Republicans have got to get on team USA at this point and just get something done."

Congressman Krishnamoorthi was also featured in a Spotlight on America investigation into the use of cars with active safety recalls by the federal government. Earlier this year, Congressman Krishnamoorthi called on the General Services Administration (GSA) to halt the sale and lease of government vehicles with active safety recalls, and the House of Representatives passed an appropriations bill last summer that included an amendment introduced by Congressman Krishnamoorthi and Congresswoman Schakowsky prohibiting the GSA from selling cars that are under a safety recall. Now, Congressman Krishnamoorthi calls on the Senate to take action and address this issue: "We have to fix this right now. That's our duty, that's why our constituents hire us, to make sure that we, at the least, keep people safe."

We will continue to bring you news about Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi's work in D.C. and Illinois.

Thank you again and best wishes to you and your family.
