Dear Sandeep,
Congressman Raja presented the Boys & Girls Club of Elgin with a $1 million federal grant to make improvements to their facility. When speaking to the Club about the grant, the Congressman said, "I jumped at the opportunity to provide funding -- It's a modest investment by the federal government in your future and the future of the United States."
Later in the week, Congressman Raja was in Bloomington to lead a career and technical education event. The Congressman, a strong proponent of the importance of trade workers, said, "I want to see them reduce the cost of community college as well as these trade and technical schools... I think we can do more to make it more affordable so more people will pursue it."
Congressman Raja, along with Representative John Moolenaar, sent a letter to Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo to probe China's TP-Link company over fears that their WiFi routers pose a threat to national security. He wrote, "We request that Commerce verify the threat posed by (China-affiliated small office/home office) routers —particularly those offered by the world's largest manufacturer, TP-Link,"
Finally, Congressman Raja appeared on News Nation to discuss cost of living increases and their impact on American consumers. The Congressman noted, "When you have a situation where prices are not connected to costs there are real consequences. People are unable to feed their families."
We will continue to bring you news about Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi's work in D.C. and Illinois.
