Raja Update 10/16

Dear Sandeep,

Today, the Chicago Tribune Editorial Board endorsed Congressman Raja for a fifth term, calling the Congressman "a smart and intellectually sophisticated member of the House Intelligence Committee and a rising figure in national politics... We find the incumbent a detail-oriented representative known for stellar service to his constituents and very much in tune with this nation's problems and assets."

Last night, Congressman Raja joined NewsNation to discuss the state of the Presidential race. In response to a question about whether he is nervous about VP Harris interviewing on Fox News, he said "not at all... at the end of the day, you want to be talking to not only people who agree with you but people who might not agree with you -- or might want to learn more."

On Friday, Congressman Raja joined Illinois legislators for a workforce training roundtable at Rock Valley College in Rockford. He explained that "to me, the purpose of a post-secondary education or a community college education is to make sure every person has access to the greatest social welfare program devised by human beings and that's a J-O-B. And if you don't have a job that leads to a middle-class lifestyle, then what's the purpose of an education? Rock Valley is doing a terrific job of preparing people for jobs."

The Daily Herald Editorial Board endorsed Raja for re-election last Thursday, arguing that "since his first election to Congress in 2016, Schaumburg Democrat Raja Krishnamoorthi has been a hard-working, dedicated representative for the 8th District, and... he emphasizes a commitment to bipartisanship and consistently demonstrates openness to respectful dialogue."

We will continue to bring you news about Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi's work in D.C. and Illinois.
