Yesterday, Congressman Raja participated in a roundtable discussion on workforce development and career technical education at John A. Logan College in Southern Illinois which received a $4.2 million grant. He explained that "when I and [Glenn] "GT" Thompson, my Republican colleague, authored the legislation that funds Perkins programs, we didn't fully realize how wonderfully the money would be put to use," noting that "I'm from Peoria... I understand how vital these communities are for our economy, and we need to do everything we can to enhance them."
Last Wednesday, Congressman Raja and other members of the House Select Committee on China sent a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin asking the Executive Branch to do more to address China's scientific research in the territory of our Arctic allies. They wrote that "the Arctic is critical to U.S. national security interests and the defense of our homeland, and we must work with our allies to preserve our defense treaty commitments."
