Raja Update 11/4

Dear Sandeep,

The 2024 Election is tomorrow! If you haven't voted early or by mail, make a plan to vote tomorrow. Please go to vote411.org to check your registration, see where your polling place is, and view what will be on your ballot.

On Saturday, Congressman Raja joined MSNBC to talk about the state of the Presidential race. Talking about the strategy of the Harris campaign in the last week, he argued "you win through addition and multiplication, not subtraction and division. So I think Kamala Harris's approach in these final days makes a lot of sense."

On Wednesday, the local suburban Chicago publication Journal & Topics endorsed Congressman Raja for re-election. They endorsed him because "he has brought support for local projects and initiatives such as the Elk Grove Village Cares addiction treatment program and frequently holds town hall meetings to address district questions directly with residents."

On Tuesday, Congressman Raja joined other members of the Illinois Congressional Delegation for a rare Senate Judiciary Committee at the Dirksen Federal Courthouse. Raja said "almost every day a pharmacy is closing its doors. Seventy-three percent of the counties in Illinois are now a pharmacy desert, meaning [there is] no pharmacy in that county."

Last Monday, Congressman Raja and his colleagues introduced Pharmacist Audit and Compensation Transparency (PhACT) Act that would direct the Secretary of Health and Human Services to investigate how Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) audit pharmacists and make recommendations for more transparency and fairness. The Congressman argued that "Pharmacy Benefit Managers have been taking advantage of independent pharmacies for years through opaque business practices, including their unfair audits of independent pharmacies," he continued by explaining "this behavior has forced the closure of thousands of community pharmacies and denied necessary prescription drug coverage to millions of Americans."

We will continue to bring you news about Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi's work in D.C. and Illinois.
