Dear Sandeep,
On Monday, Raja unveiled his Executive Branch Accountability Agenda, a comprehensive blueprint to rein in Donald Trump's abuse of power, restore checks and balances, and ensure that no future administration can ever undermine American democracy in the same manner again. Since the plan's rollout, Illinoisans have heard all about Raja's plans to address ICE oversight, pardon reform, anti-DOGE data protections, Trump's redistricting power grab, and more.
On Tuesday, he toured the HIRE360 Workforce Development & Green Economy Training Facility in Chicago's South Loop, meeting with students, instructors, labor leaders, and contractors to discuss how career and technical education (CTE) is creating pathways to high-quality jobs across Illinois.
On Wednesday, Raja spoke at the Illinois Democrats County Chairs' Association Annual Brunch in Springfield, delivering a powerful message to hundreds of Democrats from across the state. In a rousing address, he laid out exactly what's at stake under the Trump administration — from threats to reproductive rights and democracy to rising costs for working families. Raja didn't hold back, energizing the crowd with a clear plan to hold the Trump administration accountable and stand up for middle-class families.
Later that afternoon, Raja headed to the Illinois State Fair, where he spent hours connecting with families, workers, and community members from every corner of the state. Walking the fairgrounds, he had honest conversations about everything from rising grocery bills to protecting Medicare and public schools. These face-to-face moments grounded his message in the everyday experiences of Illinoisans — and reinforced why he's fighting so hard to make government work for the people it's meant to serve.
On Thursday, Raja joined MSNBC's Alex Witt to speak about President Trump's takeover of Washington D.C.'s metropolitan police department. Raja said "Lets be clear about why it's happening…. he's trying to distract attention from his mismanagement of the economy, which is weakening, and from the Epstein files debacle. It's yet another example of him trying to attempt a blatant power grab – just as he did with trying to deploy American soldiers on American soil in California against American citizens."
On Friday, Raja stood alongside health facility workers from the Department of Veterans Affairs and community leaders at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago to rail against the Trump Administration's reckless decision to terminate union contracts for VA workers last week.
We will continue to bring you news about Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi's efforts to stand up to Trump and fight for Illinois.
