Last Tuesday, Raja for Illinois released its fifth television ad of the cycle, "Toughest Fighter." In the new spot, Local 881 United Food and Commercial Workers Union President Steve Powell tells the story of Raja's partnership in their fight to halt a proposed grocery mega-merger that was on track to drive up food costs and endanger good-paying union jobs. "Politicians sure like to talk about high prices…but Raja actually did something," said Local 881 President Steve Powell in the new ad. "He helped block this terrible merger, because that's what he does. No one fights harder."

On Wednesday, Teamsters Local 705 — the largest Teamsters Local in Illinois — announced their endorsement of Raja for U.S. Senate. "As the principal officer representing the more than 17,000 workers who make up Local 705, I know that we are in need of a true fighter in Illinois. Today, I am proud to endorse Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi's campaign to be Illinois' next U.S. Senator on behalf of Teamsters Local 705, because his support for organized labor and working families is unparalleled," said Juan Campos, Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters Local 705.

Later that day, Raja joined CNN's Wolf Blitzer to discuss the latest Epstein email revelations and the need for transparency. "For the sake of justice for the survivors, they should be able to have access to those files too, and to prevent this from ever happening again, we need to know how this cover-up happened, and how rich and powerful interests have managed to escape justice for more than 20 years at this point," said Raja.

On Thursday, Raja for Illinois released its sixth television ad of the cycle, "No One." In the new spot, 16th Ward Alderman and Chair of the Aldermanic Black Caucus Stephanie Coleman outlines why she proudly endorsed Raja for U.S. Senate."Plenty of politicians talk a good game. Raja delivers for the community I represent, and every community. Raja never stops fighting for people left behind," said Alderman Stephanie Coleman. "We've never needed someone like Raja in the Senate more. No one fights harder – No one."

Later that evening, Raja took part in a U.S. Senate candidate forum hosted by the Illinois AFL-CIO and the Chicago Federation of Labor, where he outlined his plans to fight for working families and expand opportunities for good-paying union jobs. When asked about Trump's recent immigration actions, Raja said, "We obviously want to control our borders, but we have to conduct our immigration policy in a humane way," calling for a pathway to citizenship for longtime immigrants who have contributed to their communities. "We need to make sure that our government treats people with respect and due process, and that's why I believe ICE is out of control, completely out of control."

On Friday, Raja joined John Berman on CNN Tonight to discuss the ongoing attempted Epstein file cover-up and Trump's efforts to shift blame onto his political opponents. "I don't think anybody should be spared any scrutiny with regard to Jeffrey Epstein and their ties to him," said Raja in the interview. "Given that the president has now said certain things that contradict what's in the emails, I believe that he knows more than what he's letting on. We don't want him or anyone in the White House to engage in any form of a cover-up."

We will continue to bring you news about Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi's efforts to stand up to Trump and fight for Illinois.
