"Whatever you do, make sure this country is there for the next families who need it." That's a lesson my parents instilled in me as a young boy. Now, it's my mission-statement as I run for the U.S. Senate to stand up to Donald Trump's cruelty. Will you chip in a few bucks to my people-powered campaign?
Sandeep, my parents immigrated from India to this country when I was a baby. They were searching for the thing all of us strive for – the American Dream. To build a better life for my brother and me. They worked incredibly hard to achieve that dream. But when my father lost his job, we fell on hard times. We lived in public housing and depended on food stamps to eat. Thanks to these programs and support from our community in Peoria, we ultimately made it to the middle class. And I stand before you today as a member of Congress and candidate for Senate. But Sandeep, the reality is that the country my parents believed so hard in is slipping away. Donald Trump is cruelly tearing apart immigrant families like mine. He's destroying the essential programs that got us back on our feet. Life is getting harder for working families – and he's doing nothing about it. This is personal to me. I'll fight with everything I have to make sure this country is still there for the next families who need it. That's why I'm running for the U.S. Senate. My election is less than two months away, and early voting has already begun. This will be one of the FIRST opportunities of 2026 to prove to Trump that we won't let him get away with this kind of cruelty.
Thanks for your support, Raja Krishnamoorthi
