This is personal

I would be Michigan’s first openly LGBTQ+ representative elected to Congress

Eric Chung

Sandeep, Democrat Eric Chung here.

I wanted to take a moment to wish you a Happy Pride Month! I’ve been thinking a lot about representation lately — what it really means, and what it looks like when it’s missing.

Not just because it’s June, but because with the Michigan Primary Day less than two months away, it’s hard not to feel the weight of everything that’s on the line in this election.

Listen, if we succeed in flipping this toss-up seat in MI-10, Michigan could send its first openly LGBTQ+ representative to Congress, and I don’t take that lightly.

But Sandeep, representation to me isn’t about making history for the sake of making history.

It’s about who gets heard when decisions are made, who gets protected when rights are under attack, and who gets taken seriously when politicians try to turn our lives, our families, and our freedoms into political pawns.

And right now, that matters more than ever.

Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans are coming after LGBTQ+ rights every chance they get, and their attacks aren’t aimed at some abstract policy position, Sandeep. They’re aimed at real people who are trying to live their lives, take care of the people they love, and exist in this country with dignity.

I’ve spent my whole career fighting for people who needed someone in their corner, and I’m not about to stop now.

That’s the kind of voice I want to bring to Congress — but first, we have to win one of the most competitive House races in the country.

National Republicans know MI-10 could determine the future of the House majority, and they’ll spend whatever it takes to keep this seat in MAGA hands and continue pushing Trump’s dangerous agenda.

We can stop them, but only if we have the resources to reach voters now, before outside spending floods this district and tries to define this race for us.

This campaign runs on people like you. So I'm asking: Will you split a donation between Equality PAC and my team to help us flip MI‑10 blue and take back the House? Together, we can make history →
