I grew up in a family that was, as I’ve described it, “anti‑everything.”
Homosexuality was never spoken about directly, but the message was clear: it would not be tolerated.
Well, last October, I married the love of my life and my best friend.
But the rights that made my marriage possible are not guaranteed, and they will not survive without organized, funded, relentless advocacy on their behalf.
That is exactly what Equality PAC exists to do — and why I’m proud to be writing to you today alongside them. Will you split a donation to Equality PAC and my Transcend PAC now, or keep reading to hear more about our work?
Equality PAC’s mission is straightforward and essential:
[1] Pass the Equality Act, the comprehensive civil rights legislation that would ban discrimination against LGBTQ+ Americans in housing, employment, and financing.
[2] Safeguard marriage equality and all of our hard‑fought rights from bigoted, extremist attacks.
[3] Give our community a real seat at the table in the halls of power.
Their track record speaks for itself. In 2024 alone, Equality PAC helped elect double‑digit LGBTQ members to the House – including Sarah McBride, our first openly transgender Member of Congress – making the 119th Congress the most representative in history.
That record matters, especially under my uncle’s administration.
He’s signed executive orders that target transgender youth, revoked federal guidance to protect LGBTQ+ students, and weaponized federal power to send the message that some of us should not be afforded the same rights as others.
His policies cost real people their healthcare and endanger their safety and sense of belonging.
And yet, many of our allies have stepped back, assuming that marriage equality settled the question.
It didn’t. It was the beginning, not the end.
That’s where Equality PAC and Transcend PAC come in.
In 2026, Equality PAC is supporting LGBTQ+ endorsees running in key races that will determine the balance of power in Congress. Transcend PAC is working alongside them to fund bold, visionary leaders who dare to hold the line and build the more accountable, more equitable democracy this country deserves.
Together, we are doing the most important LGBTQ+ electoral work of this midterm cycle. But we need your support to do it.
