Dear Sandeep,
On Tuesday, Congressman Raja celebrated the Fourth of July by marching with the Greater Palatine Area Democrats in the Rolling Meadows Independence Day Parade. We couldn't have asked for better weather and the Congressman had a great time celebrating America's independence surrounded by dozens of supporters.
On Thursday, Congressman Raja presented Cook County Health with $1 million in funding he secured, which will be used to purchase an urgent care mobile unit, a mobile x-ray machine, cardiac monitors, and an EKG machine, among other critical resources. The Congressman stated that "having a wife who is an anesthesiologist and a brother who is an internist, I know very well the importance of having a top-notch medical system in place to provide quality care for those who need it, when they need it."
On Friday, Congressman Raja was recognized for his role in bringing Romal, an Afghan interpreter sought by the Taliban, to safety in the US. The Congressman volunteered to help after hearing about Romal's story in August of 2021, noting that "we were working against time. We couldn't go through the usual bureaucratic processes or deal with the minutiae of a government that is divorced from what the ground realities are."
We will continue to bring you news about Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi's work in D.C. and Illinois.
