Dear Sandeep,
On Wednesday, Congressman Raja published a guest column in the Daily Herald about the fentanyl crisis. To address this issue, the Congressman wrote that in addition to "cracking down on the supply of fentanyl, we must also focus on reducing the demand by helping our local communities and law enforcement agencies treat those caught up in opioid addiction."
On Thursday, Congressman Raja's bill to rename the St. Charles East Side Station Post Office to "Veterans of the Vietnam War Memorial Post Office'' passed unanimously in the Oversight Committee. The Congressman said that "renaming the post office in St. Charles is a way for our community to recognize and honor the men and women who have served in uniform."
Also on Thursday, Congressman Raja joined John Williams on WGN Radio to talk about how he made it his personal mission to get Romal, an Afghan interpreter for US forces, away from the Taliban and into the US. The Congressman noted, however, that "even today there are people in Afghanistan who are in hiding, who are awaiting leaving the country, and it's our duty to get them out."
