Donald Trump is now officially going after the Department of Education.
We're terrified, team. From campaigning on defunding the Department of Education, to nominating unqualified Linda McMahon – whose goal Trump says will be to "put herself out of a job," making broad attacks on public schools, and having Elon Musk and DOGE cut $900 million from the agency just this week – Trump and his cronies are set on destroying an essential institution.
Teachers across the country are worried about Trump's actions shuttering essential programs for vulnerable children – and DGA Vice Chair Andy Beshear even warned, "if they eliminated the Department of Education and its funding, that's half a billion dollars in meals for kids that otherwise might go hungry."
Donald Trump cannot unilaterally abolish the Department of Education without the approval of Congress. But his efforts could still have DISASTROUS consequences!
