Raja Update 2/2

Dear Sandeep,

On Friday, Congressman Raja toured a Mount Prospect fire station and expressed his commitment to securing federal funding for a new station. In the Daily Herald he said, "With the Mount Prospect Fire Department's recently expanded jurisdiction, additional resources are essential to ensuring the safety of Mount Prospect and surrounding communities."

Later on Friday, Congressman Raja and Congressman Joe Courtney (D-CT) published an op-ed in The Hill on the future of American national security relating to China. They said, "Americans do not want a cold war or a hot war with the Chinese Communist Party. By continuing to revitalize U.S. submarine-building and our maritime industrial base, we provide... guarantees that we will continue to prevent one from ever happening."

On Thursday, Congressman Raja joined NewsNation to discuss kitchen table issues impacting everyday Americans. He explained, "We need to focus on lowering the cost of living, whether it's buying gas, groceries, rent, healthcare, education, and improving people's incomes and getting them to a better place so they can achieve their economic dreams."

On Wednesday, Congressman Raja held a press conference with the Illinois Pharmacists Association to discuss the need for Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) reform. On ABC7 he said, "[PBM's] raise drug costs by creating… a rebate system where they get rebates from drug manufacturers for drugs that cost more… We want to make sure no small business is put out of business because of an unlevel playing field."

We will continue to bring you news about Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi's work in D.C. and Illinois.
