Trump fires 1,300 employees from the Department of Education after vowing to dismantle the agency.
 
Alongside billionaire Elon Musk, Trump has devoted the first months of his term to taking a chainsaw to our country's most crucial institutions – and now, they're taking a wrecking ball to yet another, as nearly HALF of the Department of Education's workforce is expected to be eliminated.
 
Trump doesn't legally have the power to abolish the Department – but that hasn't stopped him yet.
 
Experts say that this decision would leave BILLIONS of dollars hanging in the balance, and disproportionately impact students most in need across the country – like students with disabilities, and those from low-income families receiving a Pell Grant to go to college.
 
This is why we need to win the 3 upcoming special elections. With a majority in the House we can start to block these ridiculous MAGA plans.
