Raja Update 3/24

Dear Sandeep,

On Monday, Congressman Raja joined CNN to discuss Trump's lack of accountability and his overreach. He said, "We have to lift up our voices louder and stronger than they are now, both inside and outside of Congress… We have to hold people accountable on the other side. We have to tell them that their constituents don't want trillions of dollars in cuts to Medicaid."

On Wednesday, Congressman Raja held a town hall in Schaumburg drawing in 300 constituents. Covered by the Daily Herald, he said, "We have to lift our voices up…I know some people are scared about lifting their voices up. Don't be scared."

After his town hall on Wednesday, Congressman Raja joined NewsNation's "CUOMO" to discuss voter feedback from his town hall. He said, "We're talking about ~$4.5 trillion in tax cuts being balanced by $2-2.5 trillion in spending cuts…we're not really balancing the budget but we are cutting a lot of services… So many people rely on Medicaid… when we're talking about cutting Medicaid to fund tax cuts, people go off the rails."

On Thursday, Congressman Raja joined MSNBC on Morning Joe to discuss what he learned from his town hall. He said, "Although my district definitely wants to see less waste, fraud, and abuse in government, they despise the way that Elon Musk and DOGE are going about their business."

Later on Thursday, Congressman Raja held a roundtable discussion on protecting SNAP benefits from planned GOP cuts. In WGN he said, "Not only are [these spending cuts] financially imprudent, it's morally wrong."

Also on Thursday, Congressman Raja joined ABC7 to discuss Trump's dismantling of the Department of Education. He said, "We hurt businesses, we hurt communities, we hurt the economy, and then we send the wrong message to the rest of the world and Americans about our priorities... We should be investing in education. We should be investing in our competitiveness."

We will continue to bring you news about Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi's work in D.C. and Illinois.
