Let me show you something a sitting Republican elected official said about me: “Foreign occupier.” “Name: Unpronounceable.” “Deport Every Indian.” My name is Raja Krishnamoorthi — but you can just call me Raja. I’m an immigrant, a candidate for U.S. Senate, and a proud American. It’s 2025, and elected officials feel emboldened to spew outright hate speech and call for the mass removal of Indian Americans like me. Let that sink in for a moment. And let’s be clear: When folks use cruel tactics and racial profiling like this, they’re not just coming after me — they’re coming after anyone who doesn’t fit their narrow definition of what an American looks like. Trump’s rhetoric and actions enable racial targeting and amplify the worst in humanity. His administration has made it acceptable to question the citizenship and belonging of millions of Americans based on nothing more than the color of their skin or the sound of their names. This isn’t just politics. This is personal. If you agree that hate has no place here, I’m hoping I can count on your support right now. My family came to this country when I was three months old, chasing the American Dream. Our community gave me a chance. Public schools gave me an education. This country gave my family hope. And now, elected officials are calling for people like me to be deported. But here’s what they don’t understand: I love this country enough to fight like hell for it. That’s exactly what I’ve been doing. I’ve spent every single day taking these racist bullies on. I stood up to Kristi Noem when she tried to dodge accountability. I had the police called on me for trying to inspect ICE facilities. I’ve called out Trump’s illegal ICE raids and his attacks on immigrant communities. I drove cross-country to make sure my vote counted against his agenda. I’ve questioned his officials in hearings, condemned his illegal tariffs, and introduced legislation to repeal his devastating cuts to SNAP and Medicaid. I refuse to back down. I refuse to be intimidated. And I refuse to let hate win. That’s why I’m running for Senate. Because we need leaders who won’t flinch in the face of hate. Leaders who’ll rise up to meet the threat Trump poses head-on. Leaders who understand that an attack on one community is an attack on all of us. The 2026 midterms are our chance to take back the House, flip the Senate, and end Trump’s unchecked power. But Trump’s super PACs have already stockpiled over $200 million to defeat Democrats like me. They’ll use every dollar to prop up the same racist extremists who are attacking me right now. The only way we fight back is together — with a massive grassroots movement of people who believe that hate has no place in American politics. So I’m asking you directly: Are you ready to fight back against hate?If you want leaders who refuse to flinch — who’ll stand up for every American, no matter what their name sounds like or where they came from — I need you in this fight with me. No matter what the racist MAGA extremists say, I’m a proud American citizen. And I’m not going anywhere. Thank you for standing with me, Raja Krishnamoorthi |
