Sandeep, the Electoral College is still doing what it was designed to do: warp our democracy and make millions of voters feel like their voice matters less.
We've seen it up close: the presidency can (and has) gone to candidates who didn't win the most votes. And every cycle, it tells huge parts of the country, "Your vote isn't worth as much."
Pete Buttigieg put it plainly:
Here's the core problem: the Electoral College overweights a handful of states, undervalues millions of Americans, and undermines the basic promise of one person, one vote.
We can do better — and we should demand a straightforward system where the winner is the person who earns the most votes. No tricks. No math games. No "your ballot counts less because of your ZIP code."
Will you add your name to Every State's petition calling on Congress to abolish the Electoral College?
When enough of us speak up — across every state — we force this fight into the spotlight and build the pressure it takes to win.
In solidarity,
Every State
