Dear Sandeep,
We hope all is well with you and your family, and that you are safe and healthy.
Yesterday, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi spoke with MSNBC to explain the priority bills Congress will be working on during these last two weeks of September. "We absolutely have to raise our debt ceiling, we cannot possibly put the full faith and credit of the United States ever at risk. Secondly, we're going to have a spending package in time for the September 30th end of year, and then we're going to have to pass infrastructure and get on with the reconciliation process. It's a lot to juggle but we've done it before and we're going to do it again."
Earlier in the week, the Congressman spoke with CNN to discuss the recent news regarding General Milley's call to a Chinese General. "What we know based on the published reports is that he had intelligence that the Chinese Military was anticipating an attack from the US and was about to take a preemptive measure. If that was the case, I think that given the extraordinary circumstances surrounding Donald Trump and his mental instability, I think it was probably appropriate for him to do something to avoid war. I'm still concerned about some specific statements that he made."
Last week, India West wrote about landmark legislation that Congressman Krishnamoorthi is pushing in Congress to process the massive Green Card backlog. "Failure to provide a path to lawful permanent residence for the 1.2 million people in the employment-based green card backlog, most of whom are H-1B visa holders, would be tantamount to staging an economic recovery with one hand tied behind our back."
We will continue to bring you news about Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi's work in D.C. and Illinois.
