Dear Sandeep,
We hope all is well with you and your family, and that you are safe and healthy.
This week Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi appeared on MSNBC to discuss his investigation into the fossil fuel industry. "They fund efforts to question climate science, they fund efforts to kill legislation, and basically the purpose of our investigation is to expose this so the American people know exactly what they're doing even as we're trying to move forward, in an urgent way, legislation to battle climate change right now."
Earlier in the week the Congressman wrote an op-ed in the Daily Herald calling for support for the Afghan Refugees who helped America for 20 years. "However you might feel about our 20-year war in Afghanistan -- and I believe it was well past time for our troops to come home -- most Americans can agree that we have a moral obligation to those Afghans who put their lives and futures at risk to help our mission succeed. Keeping them out of the Taliban's grasp and helping them to make a new start is what we owe them for their friendship and commitment to our cause."
Congressman Raja also appeared on The Lincoln Project: First Name Basis to discuss the issues facing our country and the various bills that Congress needs to get passed this week. It's well worth a listen!
We will continue to bring you news about Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi's work in D.C. and Illinois.
