Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi spoke with Wolf Blitzer on CNN about the American Troops who lost their lives in Afghanistan. "Our hearts go out to these families of these fallen soldiers. They're some of the finest people we've ever met Wolf. I want to extend our incredible gratitude to the men and women currently serving guarding the airport. We're also thinking about the wounded soldiers and we want to pull for them, and I hope all of your audience is thinking about them as well.
Congressman Krishnamoorthi also spoke with WGN Radio about the terrorists responsible for the attack in Afghanistan. "With regards to those who perpetrated this horrible attack, Isis. We should hold them to account, we should neutralize them and eliminate them. I'm glad to see that the President is going after them."The Congressman was also interviewed by MSNBC on America's next steps in Afghanistan. "We know that Al-Qaeda has been significantly degraded, and of course Al-Qaeda was the source of the original attacks on 9/11 and the reason we originally went to Afghanistan. ISIS-K could use Afghanistan as a base to launch attacks, and so we have to keep our counter-terrorism mission there and work with our regional partners to make that happen."
