Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi spoke at the Gun Sense Rally in Lake Zurich along with Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky and other local leaders. In his remarks, Congressman Raja said, "Increasing numbers of not just Democrats, but independents and moderate Republicans, want to see common sense gun reform. And that's exactly what they're going to get." Congressman Raja has been on the front lines of gun reform as the original sponsor of the COOL OFF Act, an act that aims to reduce gun violence through a national three-day waiting period.

Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi joined host Ali Velshi on MSNBC to discuss former President Donald Trump's potential violation of the Espionage Act. Congressman Raja, a member of the House Intelligence Committee and Committee on Oversight and Government Reform said, "I think that the closer the FBI and the DOJ get to Donald Trump, I think the louder his social media protests are and the more vitriol there is in his rhetoric."

Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi joined Lisa Dent on Chicago's Afternoon News to discuss the recent signing of the Inflation Reduction Act and what it means for the people of Illinois' 8th district. With regards to the cap on insulin prices, Congressman Raja said, "for people who are on Medicare for insulin, it'll mean a cap of $35 per month for this life saving drug - I couldn't tell you how many constituents came up to tell me they couldn't believe it when they heard about this cap because they pay much more for insulin out of pocket per month." Congressman Raja referenced other prescription drug price provisions, saying, "There is a $2,000 out-of-pocket cap for all prescription drugs for people on Medicare. Right now, a lot of seniors are paying anywhere between five and ten thousand dollars a year for out-of-pocket prescription drug prices, so this is a huge saving for them."
