Hi Sandeep, my name is Raja Krishnamoorthi. You might know me as a Congressman and candidate for U.S. Senate. But you might not know that I'm a proud product of the American Dream. This is going to be a longer email about my family's story and what that Dream means to me. I hope you'll read until the end, and then chip in to power my grassroots campaign. >> Growing up, I didn't always have it easy. My parents immigrated to the U.S. from India when I was a baby in search of that dream of a better life for their kids.  My parents worked hard night and day to build that better life for my brother and me. But we fell on tough times. But essential programs like food stamps and public housing helped us get back on our feet. We all did what we could to achieve that dream. I got my first job as a teenager delivering newspapers to help out my family, and worked at McDonald's to help put myself through college. And thanks to support from our community and excellent public schools, I went on to graduate from law school and become Illinois' first Indian-American Congressman.  That's what the American Dream is all about, Sandeep. But it's becoming increasingly impossible for working families to build that better life that we all dream of. College tuition has tripled, healthcare is more expensive than ever, and the middle class is disappearing before our eyes. And at a time when so many need champions more than ever, Donald Trump and his MAGA majority have instead made cruelty towards working families their top priority. He's made devastating cuts to essential services, gone after immigrant families, and even cut off all access to food stamps – forcing children all across the country to go hungry. I won't stand for that. So Sandeep, if like me, you believe working families need fighters who understand the struggles and dreams of ordinary people, and you're ready to put an END to the chaos and cruelty of the Trump administration, will you pitch in today to help power my campaign to take back the Senate?
