I want to be straight with you, because you’ve earned that.
Back in April, I was down almost 7 points to Greg Abbott in the polling average. Political insiders wrote this race off. Then you showed up: you chipped in, spread the word, and proved that people all over the country believe Texas can be taken back. By October 7, we had cut that gap to just 1.3 points.
I know a lot of you saw that number and felt what I felt: we can actually do this.
But since then, the polls have moved in the wrong direction. Today, the average has me trailing Abbott by 2.7 points.
Here’s what I need you to hear: 2.7 points is not a lost race. This is one of the most competitive governor’s races in the country, and it will be decided by turnout, by organizing, and by what we do in these final days.
Two weeks ago, we were closer to beating Greg Abbott than anyone thought possible. If we let up now, we could lose this race by a margin we could have closed. I need you in this fight with me. Can you split $20 today between Equal Opportunity Now and my campaign to help us get back to where we were and finish the job?
Early voting is already underway, and every dollar we raise right now goes straight into reaching the voters who will decide this thing. We can’t get comfortable. Not for a single day. We have to make sure every voter hears the truth about Greg Abbott before they cast their ballot.
Here’s just one example: a watchdog investigation just found that Abbott’s much-hyped “pause” on data center permits was never a pause at all.
Dozens of projects kept moving forward. That’s Greg Abbott: a press release for voters, business as usual for his corporate allies.
Your donation could be the difference between winning and losing. It could decide whether Texas gets four more years of Greg Abbott’s corruption or whether we take Texas back.
I’ve never needed your support more. Will you split $10 or $20 now between Equal Opportunity Now and my campaign so we can close this 2.7-point gap before Election Day?
