Yes, he outraised us again, and he has more than four times as much cash as we do. But look at what he's done with all that money. Abbott has spent $141.3 million so far this year, including $74 million in the last three months alone. That's six times what we spent over the same stretch.
Think about that for a second. Abbott's team called a recent poll showing Gina ahead "garbage." But you don't spend $141 million in nine months unless you're worried about losing.
And he has reason to be. Four public polls in the last three weeks have shown Gina narrowly ahead. Before last month, Abbott had never trailed in a single public poll in any of his four campaigns for governor. Texans are fed up with his record on property taxes and data centers, and it's showing.
The funding behind these campaigns tells a lot of the story. Abbott's biggest checks over the last few months? $1 million apiece from billionaires like Jeff Yass and Kenneth Fisher. Ours came overwhelmingly from regular people: more than 136,000 donors giving an average of $53. Nearly three out of four of them had never given to Gina before.
We don't need billionaire checks to win this election. We just need to keep doing what's working: raising the resources we need to compete and communicating our message with the Texans who need to hear it.
FirstName, early voting starts October 19. We have less than a week to make sure voters hear Gina's message before they head to the polls, and Abbott is going to spend every dollar he has left trying to drown it out. Will you help fuel this fight?
Split $25 or anything you can right now between Equal Opportunity Now and Gina to help us over the finish line.
