We hope all is well with you and your family, and that you are safe and healthy. 

This week, Congressman Raja spoke to the Washington Post and Semafor to discuss being named as the top Democrat on the newly formed House committee on China, and on working with Rep. Mike Gallagher, the top Republican on the panel. The two Congressmen have worked together before when they introduced a bill in December to ban TikTok, the Chinese social media app, in the U.S. unless it is outside the Chinese Communist Party's control. "We want to lay out the facts — that's the investigatory function of the committee. And then also suggest ways to move forward," Congressman Raja said. "The only way I think things get done in Washington that endure are bipartisan in nature."

Over the weekend, Congressman Raja joined Wolf Blizer on CNN to discuss the implications of the Chinese spy balloon sent into American airspace. The Congressman told Wolf, "It reminds us of the threats posed by the Chinese Communist Party, and that's the reason for the formation of the [China select] committee. We know that there are military, technological, national security threats...These threats exist, the CCP is aggressive, and they are unfortunately committing surveillance in violation of our national sovereignty, not to mention violations of national sovereignty of so many of their neighbors, including Taiwan and others."

Congressman Raja also joined Lindsey Reiser on MSNBC to provide his insight on the spy balloon. The Congressman emphasized, "One thing that is very important, as a member of the Intelligence Committee, is that I hope that we don't destroy that technology, but that somehow we're able to salvage it, because it helps us to learn as much as possible about Chinese Communist Party capabilities and to be able to counter them as well."
