Sandeep, I've been traveling all over Illinois meeting with voters on the campaign trail and talking about our fight to make America work for working people, and I am FIRED UP! Look, this campaign isn't about me – it's about you. That's why I've been traveling all over the state meeting voters. And let me tell you, I'm feeling some real momentum in our battle to flip the Senate blue.
We've met with thousands of motivated Democrats ready to win this race: ![]() Stood with our friends in labor in the fight to make America work for working people: ![]() Celebrated Pride and Juneteeth all across the state: ![]() Stood with the millions all across the country demanding NO KINGS in America: ![]() And so much more. After an incredible first couple months, we're really feeling the momentum on Team Raja. If there's one thing I know for sure, it's that it's going to take all of us to win this race and flip the Senate blue. But the truth is that in order to make all of this possible, we need to raise $10,000 every single day from emails like this one. And heading into the long weekend, I want to be out meeting voters, not worrying about hitting our goals.
Thank you Sandeep – I'm so glad to have you on my team. Raja Krishnamoorthi

🏳️🌈 standing up for our freedoms, our kids, and the LGBTQ+ community
| These emails are the best way for our campaign to stay in touch with supporters like you. If you'd prefer, you can unsubscribe here. Sandeep, I had an incredible time seeing so many happy faces at the Chicago Pride Parade this weekend! ![]() I am proud – today and always – to stand beside the LGBTQ+ community. But this is also a difficult time for so many right now. Marriage equality. Access to gender-affirming care. Anti-discrimination and anti-hate crime laws. The Trump Administration is putting it all on the chopping block. And now, the Trump administration is trying to CUT the suicide hotline for LGBTQ+ youth. Axing this lifesaving service isn't just cruel – it's dangerous. As a father, I won't stand for it. That's why I've been leading the fight to oppose this insanity. Donald Trump and the MAGA GOP Senate Majority will stop at nothing in their cruel agenda to erode hard-won fundamental freedoms and harm at-risk kids. In the Senate, I'll always stand up for our freedoms, our kids, and the LGBTQ+ community. I hope you'll stand with me in this fight.
Happy (belated) Pride, Sandeep – thanks for standing with me. Raja Krishnamoorthi

SNAP fed me – Trump is GUTTING it
| These emails are the best way for our campaign to stay in touch with supporters like you. If you'd prefer, you can unsubscribe here. Sandeep — Donald Trump and Republicans are cutting 1 TRILLION from Medicaid and SNAP (food stamps) in Donald Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill." These are programs that me and millions of Americans have depended on to survive. It's SICK ↘↘ ![]()
Sandeep, my parents moved here from India when I was a baby in search of the American Dream. But as hard as they worked, we fell on tough times. Back then, we lived for a time in Public Housing to keep a roof over our heads and depended on Food Stamps to eat. So I need to be clear about what this bill does:
Thank you for standing with me and the millions under attack by the Trump administration. Raja

Raja Update 7/2

Dear Sandeep,
Yesterday, Raja hosted a virtual town hall meeting as he drove 14 hours back to DC to vote against the "Large Lousy Law" after his flight was cancelled. In Politico he said, "We got some gas money, we got some snacks, and away we go… My GPS says I'm going to be there just in time." In a post on X, Raja said, "I've been honored to represent Illinois for a decade in Congress – and this is the first time I have ever driven through the night to cast my vote. That's how important this is."
Last Tuesday, Raja confirmed his name was included in the Minnesota shooter's notes and then spoke about the dangers of political violence and endorsed a resolution condemning the attacks on Minnesota state lawmakers during a debate on the House floor as reported by Forbes. He said, "I hope that the American people have a chance to watch this particular debate because I think that it really illustrates the unity and resolve all of us must exhibit at all times. Representative Hortman and Senator Huffman deserve more than our thoughts. They deserve our commitment to ensuring that this never happens again."
Last Wednesday, Raja sent a letter to HHS secretary RFK Jr urging him to reverse the department's decision to discontinue the crisis line for LGBTQ+ youth, as reported by the Windy City Times. In the letter, he writes, "Cutting this crisis line is not just a policy decision; it's a moral failure…We have a duty to protect every young person in crisis, and ending this service would abandon LGBTQ+ youth at the exact moment they need us most."
Also on Wednesday, Raja introduced a bipartisan bill that would ban U.S. agencies from using artificial intelligence models developed in China as reported by Reuters. He said, "Artificial intelligence controlled by foreign adversaries represents a direct risk to our national security, data integrity, and government operations."
Additionally on Wednesday, Raja questioned witnesses about the Trump Administration's efforts to cut DEI programs during a House Oversight Committee hearing as reported by Forbes. He said, "In the name of expunging DEI the Trump administration has lurched from the farcical to the cruel in its effort to rewrite history. [This includes], for instance, threatening to remove Emmitt Till's monument to even deleting references to the historic and heroic Tuskegee Airmen. These actions are wrong, but do not compete in cruelty with the ending of a suicide hotline for LGBTQ youth."
On Thursday, Raja joined Chicago Tonight to discuss the Trump Administration's attempts to limit congressional oversight at his recent visit to an ICE facility in Chicago. He said, "ICE sent out hundreds, if not thousands of text messages, to residents of the Chicago area summoning them to this ICE facility in the South Loop for 'Check in appointments' as they were pursuing their asylum cases…People got snatched essentially when they showed up by ICE from their families, their families didn't know where they went or where they had been taken. And so Congressman Jackson and I showed up to the ICE facility to find out and we were met by an agent who refused to identify himself, refused to even show his badge, refused to answer any questions. And then he promptly called the Chicago police to evict us as trespassers from this ICE facility. That was absolutely unacceptable."
On Friday, Raja introduced new legislation to prevent Donald Trump from unilaterally deploying the military on peaceful protesters. He said, "No American President should be able to unilaterally deploy active-duty troops against citizens who are exercising their right to peaceful protest…After watching President Trump send United States Marines into Los Angeles, it's clear we need to strengthen the guardrails of our democracy to hold this administration—and any future administration—accountable."
We will continue to bring you news about Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi's efforts to stand up to Trump and fight for Illinois.

I drove through the night to vote NO on Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill”
| These emails are the best way for our campaign to stay in touch with supporters like you. If you'd prefer, you can unsubscribe here. Hi Sandeep, Democrat Raja Krishnamoorthi here. After driving 14 hours through the night to make it to DC, I just made it back to the capitol to vote NO on Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill". ![]() (This is me refilling my gas tank near Toledo, Ohio around Midnight!) Look, this fight is personal to me. I've lived in Public Housing. I've depended on Food Stamps to eat. I know what it's like to depend on these safety nets when times are tough. But this bill tears apart everything that makes our country great. Millions of Americans will lose their healthcare. Kids will go hungry. Just so billionaires and the ultra-wealthy can get an extra tax cut. Driving across the country in the middle of the night to stop this isn't a chore – it's my duty. Today, I'm voting NO – even if it takes a few sleepless nights and long drives. And tomorrow, the fight continues to STOP Trump's cruel agenda and DEFEAT the MAGA Senate majority once and for all.
Thank you, – Raja
