When it comes to Donald Trump and the MAGA Extremists, one thing is absolutely certain: The grift never, EVER stops.
Right now, the head of the United States Postal Service is doing Donald Trump's dirty work — implementing an executive order that federal courts have already ruled unconstitutional. Twice.
Here's what's happening:
Trump signed an executive order aimed at controlling how election mail is handled in this country — an order two separate federal courts have already blocked as unconstitutional. Most people would call that settled. Postmaster General David Steiner didn't.
Now, Postmaster General Steiner refuses to tell Congress whether his agency is complying with a federal court order. Even after the injunction. Even after the First Circuit ruled against Trump again on July 25th.
Let's call this exactly what it is: The United States Postal Service — an institution that is supposed to serve every American equally, no matter their zip code or their politics — has been turned into a partisan instrument of voter suppression.
This is deliberate. Trump wants control over how your ballot gets delivered, and he found someone running USPS who's willing to give it to him — court orders be damned.
I sent Steiner a letter demanding answers. I want to know every step USPS has taken to implement this order, every piece of guidance sent to postal workers, and exactly why he thinks he's above two federal court rulings. I gave him until August 13th to respond. I'm also calling on the USPS Board of Governors to remove him.
