Raja spoke at the DNC last night

 

Dear Sandeep,

Congressman Raja had the opportunity to take the main stage at the DNC and highlighted that China was hoping for a Donald Trump victory and the need to elect a Harris-Walz ticket. In an impassioned speech, the Congressman said, "Trump will pit American against American, and that is what China wants. For us to fight amongst ourselves. But we're not going back. What does Kamala Harris tell us? When we fight, we win."

To kick off DNC week, Congressman Raja was the keynote speaker for an AAPI caucus event which vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz attended. Discussing the upcoming election, the Congressman stated, "I think (Harris) has the momentum. I think she is creating such grass-roots excitement and enthusiasm and energy that she's going to be hard to stop. We are going to be hard to stop."

While at the United Center, Congressman Raja spoke with WGN about Vice President Harris' background and his own connection to his Indian heritage. The Congressman joked, "She is going to bring curry powder to the white house in a big way and that will translate into curry power."

On night 2, Congressman Raja sat down with CBS News to examine Governor Pritzker's speech that night and the importance of Democrats retaking the House. He mentioned, "He mixed levity with seriousness in a way that was really digestible and I thought, quite frankly, that he was the happy warrior. I think that is the mantle he has worn as our governor, I think that's why he has been so successful."

Congressman Raja spoke with Illinois Public Media about Vice President Harris' qualifications and the emphatic support she has from the crowd at the DNC. The Congressman noted, "I think [Vice President Harris] is due for a promotion. If you were in the hall last night, there were tens of thousands of people who agreed boisterously with that sentiment."
