This week, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi penned an op-ed in the Chicago Sun Times outlining the progress made with regard to lowering the prescription drug prices for all Americans and highlighting additional solutions. Congressman Raja wrote that, "A proven way to reduce the cost of drugs is by allowing the government to negotiate prices with the drug companies... Under the Inflation Reduction Act, the secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will use Medicare's enormous buying power to negotiate lower prescription prices from drug companies for Medicare beneficiaries, lowering prices for seniors and people with disabilities... Another way to reduce prescription drug prices for everyone is to reduce the period during which drug companies can exclusively market their biologic drugs."

Thomson Reuturs reported on Congressman Raja's recent calls to hold the SEC and other financial regulators accountable for the alarming amount of fraud in cryptocurrency. In his letter to SEC Chair Gary Gensler, Congressman Raja wrote, "The lack of a central authority to flag suspicious transactions in many situations, the irreversibility of transactions, and the limited understanding many consumers and investors have of the underlying technology make cryptocurrency a preferred transaction method for scammers."

Congressman Raja's call to prosecute the perpetrators of anti-Indian American harassment was reported on by Business Standard after troubling incidents in the Dallas area. Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi said, "Such bigoted attacks motivated by racism, xenophobia, and other forms of hate victimize not only those directly targeted by them, but also broader communities through creating an atmosphere of fear and danger."
