Happy New Year! I hope this message finds you and your family safe and healthy.
New Year's Day has always been a celebration of new opportunities -- the promise of a fresh start to accomplish all those things we wish we'd done last year. In many ways, the promise of the New Year mirrors that of the American Dream: a boundless opportunity unencumbered by what came before.
And more than ever, this year, we need a fresh start. There's no avoiding it: 2020 has been a very difficult year, but today, we have a lot to look forward to. As I write this, vaccines are being distributed across the country, and the new stimulus package will help buoy the economy, delivering crucial aid to individuals and businesses that need it most. Most importantly, we look forward to what President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice-President-Elect Kamala Harris will do to unify our country and move it forward.
Make no mistake, we have a lot of work ahead of us, and we certainly aren't out of the storm yet, but this New Year's Day, take heart, for we are going to get through this, together.
