Raja Update 12/5

Dear Sandeep,

We hope all is well with you and your family, and that you are safe and healthy.

Congressman Raja joined WGN host John Williams to discuss, among other topics, passage of The Respect for Marriage Act. The Congressman told John, "Most people take this for granted now John, that people should be able to marry the person they love regardless of gender. I think that after the recent Supreme Court decisions, namely the Dobbs decision which really upended a constitutional right that women had been relying on for fifty years, now folks think the Obergefell decision which basically established the right to gay marriage is also under threat. We can't allow a situation where people's marriages are threatened..."

The Congressman was also quoted extensively in a Business Standard piece about the Chinese Communist Party's construction of a military post near the border with India, and why the post is a disturbing sign of aggression. Congressman Raja told reporters, "As the Chinese Communist Party's domestic repression, brutal persecution of Uyghurs, and online misinformation efforts continue to escalate, so too do the signs of its growing international military aggression stretching from India to the Taiwan Strait."

Congressman Raja appeared on MSNBC to discuss his efforts in Georgia this past weekend, supporting Reverend Raphael Warnock on the ground with voters. The Congressman told hosts, "I think the voters on the ground have a lot of energy. They're being organized and energized and mobilized to vote for [Warnock]….I just came from another canvass launch where there were dozens if not hundreds of people about to door knock or as I like to say 'Warnock' in favor of his candidacy..."

We will continue to bring you news about Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi's work in D.C. and Illinois.
