I wanted to give you a personal update of what I’ve been up to, as you’ve always been a supporter I can count on:
I got back from a congressional trip to Ukraine and sat down with NPR to talk about what I saw — a country five years into this war, rationing air defense missiles while Russian ballistic strikes hit their cities harder every week. I told them plainly: we have to cut through the bureaucratic excuses and get Ukraine the weapons they need. There is no other option.
Two days later, I was on Morning Joe making the same case — and then that night on CNN, talking about North Korea funneling aid to Russia and Trump handing out pardons like party favors.
In between all of that, Senator Durbin and I sent a letter demanding answers on immigrants missing "mega court" hearings that are being scheduled with almost no notice — hearings that can end in deportation before someone even knows they're supposed to show up.
By Saturday, I was on MSNOW talking about Trump's newest tariff threats and serious security concerns swirling around Natalie Harp. By Monday morning, back on CNN discussing his latest tariffs on Canada and new sanctions on Iran. And by Monday afternoon, I was announcing a $1 million community project funding award for the DuPage Water Commission to create a water system that filters out contaminants like lead and microplastics.
I'm telling you all this for one reason: I am not slowing down. If anything, I'm working harder — because there is too much at stake to coast.
