I've had enough. I need you to understand why. First, Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell packed the courts with right-wing judges. Then, Trump callously admitted that vote-by-mail is the biggest threat to his re-election. And now, Trump-appointed judges are cracking down on vote-by-mail everywhere. Sandeep, I refuse to let this President get away with this. I'm calling on a massive uprising today DEMANDING universal vote-by-mail. Trump's crusade against vote-by-mail is asinine. Not only threatening the health and safety of voters -- but also directly suppressing the vote. Anything short of universal vote-by-mail is an attack on our democracy.

| "What we've seen is a very disturbing week" - Dr. Anthony Fauci I'm stunned at how this President and White House have spiraled out of control. FIRST: President Trump blocked Dr. Fauci from testifying in front of my committee in Congress about the truth of this virus. THEN: Trump admitted to trying to slow down testing for his own political gain. NOW: I just learned that Coronavirus cases are rising in 40 out of 50 states due to this President's failure of leadership. Sandeep, I refuse to let this President silence our experts any longer. We cannot be kept in the dark.
I've worked tirelessly to protect us from this Administration's negligence. I went after companies selling fraudulent Coronavirus antibody tests. And I've exposed how this Administration allowed hundreds of junk tests to flood our country on CBS's 60 Minutes. But that alone isn't enough to hold the President accountable. Dr. Fauci is the only one who can expose the President's shortcomings. We need his testimony to fully comprehend and address this crisis. | I need your eyes on this ASAP. FIRST: Trump blocked ALL Democrats' vote by mail initiatives in Congress to save his own re-election. THEN: He hired 50,000 volunteers to monitor and intimidate Democrats at the polls. NOW: Trump just announced he's SUING Democrats for trying to expand vote by mail! Sandeep, I'm livid. I can't stand by while this president deliberately blocks us from voting safely this year for his OWN political gain.
As a member of the House Oversight Committee, I'm taking Trump head on on everything from vote by mail to the Coronavirus. But I can't do this alone. I need the power of grassroots Democrats behind me now more than ever.

We hope all is well with you and your family, and that you are safe and healthy.
All eyes have been on Russia this week as there are reports that Russia may have paid bounties to kill US troops in Afghanistan. The story has been developing, and new information is coming out daily. As a member of the House Intelligence Committee, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi spoke with MSNBC and The Stephanie Miller Show about these reports. He told MSNBC, "There are a number of tools at the president's disposal in terms of acting to prevent our adversaries from harming our troops. As you know, the Russians and others are trying to reintegrate into the world economy, trying to join the G8, and trying to have sanctions lifted. We can say that if they did something like this or tried to harm our troops, not only would they not be able to achieve those objectives that they're trying to achieve, but we would probably try to impose more sanctions and further isolate them." Congressman Raja was briefed on these reports and will continue to push this administration to keep our troops safe.
It has come to light that active-duty troops who stood ready to be deployed in DC to control protests last month were equipped with bayonets—the knife-like weapon that can be inserted on the end of a rifle or similar firearm to be used as a spear. Congressman Raja spoke to Fox News about this, "I think the reason why so many people in the military as well as others are so disturbed by active duty troops being deployed in these types of situations is because they're not trained to control protest or riots...they were not trained [in the use of bayonets], these people are young men and women who are put in a situation that is untenable. They are given live rounds and firearms and they are able to defend themselves, and they should be able to. I think that the reason why this story is so newsworthy is that people think that providing them with bayonets, especially in a situation where they are not trained to do so, is a bridge too far." The Congressman also noted that violence is unacceptable, and it is unacceptable to have a situation that escalates into further violence. In his role on the Oversight Committee, the Congressman will continue to look into this matter.

Happy 4th of July
Dear Sandeep,
Happy 4th of July! Today we celebrate the freedom of our great nation. On July 2, 1776, Congress voted to declare independence, and two days later on July 4, the 13 colonies adopted the Declaration of Independence.
From 13 colonies to 50 states, we have expanded vastly. At the same time, we have built a nation on certain precious, timeless values including liberty, equality, freedom, and justice. It is up to all of us to uphold those values. Today, even as our country celebrates how far we have come in realizing those values, we must recognize how far we still have to go. We still have tremendous challenges, and let us resolve today to continue to tackle and overcome them.
Today, I also want to say thank you. Thank you for your support that has allowed me to represent and fight for you in Congress. I will continue to do so, and I'm honored to have your support.
This year's celebration will look different due to COVID-19, but I have no doubt that we will still find a way to celebrate, reflect, and look ahead.
