This week, Congressman Raja Krishamoorthi joined Bret Baier on Fox News to discuss the recent news that OPEC plans to decrease production. Congressman Raja told Bret, "One of the things I've called for repeatedly now, for the third time today, is invoking the Defense Production Act to increase our oil refining capacity, Bret, It's at an all time low. We're about a million barrels a day down in American refining capacity and if we can increase that it would help to supply more gasoline and lower prices at the pump. We need to do that, especially now, because of the hurricane season which affects a lot of those refineries -- especially on the southern coast.
Congressman Raja also appeared on MSNBC to speak out against the dangers of political violence. For instance, after Trump posted on Truth Social about the FBI raiding his Mar-A-Lago estate, the phrase "civil war" appeared online 15,000 times per hour. "We have to call out political violence rhetoric for what it is and say that it is completely unacceptable in our discourse, whether you're a Democrat, a Republican, or otherwise."
Congressman Raja's work to push back against rampant fraud in the crypto space was reported on by NextGov, with special attention paid to the Congressman's recent letter to the Treasury Department. He said, "I acknowledge the Treasury Department for taking the important step of recognizing the financial harm that crypto-related fraud and scams cause everyday investors…."
